AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) , the technical arm who gives approvals on behalf of Government of India for Technical colleges and courses is in limelight due to suspension of its Chairman over corruption case and nearly three dozen office has been sent back to their parent cadres. The step has been taken by HRD ministry so that no influence happens in investigations. CBI (Central Bureau of Investigations) is probing a case of demanding money for increase in intake of seats against some AICTE officials.

This incident shows that corruption is rooted deeply in our system and I know that in last 2-3 years so many engineering colleges opened in Delhi & Haryana. I knows that that big amount and handsome gifts had been given to officials for approval of Colleges even when they are not fulfilling the infrastructure, faculty, other required norms. It is very sad that we want to make India Super Power but our institutes which will give us the future army for work is not at par with world class institutes. This is the reason that we are still behind others. It is only a small hole in Indian Education System which had been noticed, many others are still under cover.

IIT and IIM are only Indian institutes recognized world wide. I think currently we don’t need some small technical college on every corner of street but some world class institutions who can train our young force and able to really produce the army of future with a great knowledge.

At last i will say lets see what happens and how government transforms AICTE, i feel that recommendations of Prof. Yashpal Committee is right and must be implemented on priority basis.

All public sector as well as private sector banks offer educational loans for the students aiming for higher education in foreign countries or in India, but due to global meltdown prospectus of jobs have declined, even peoples are getting pink slips and after finalisation of next central government the process of cost cutting will increase so what should be the precautions while you are taking loan. How do you know about it.

First of all it is very difficult to compare the rate of interest charged.  It is common phenomena peoples think that private banks charges more interest but they provide loan and quickly without any hassles while government / public sector banks charges less interest but to getting loan from these banks is very difficult because of formalities involved and bureaucracy. Normally securities like your house, jewellery, fixed deposits, other assets are asked against disbursement of loan. In public sector banks may be you need to pay commissions (actually bribe) to the concerned authorities through the mediators.

Secondly are you sure what are the chances of placement after completion of course. What package you will got and  what is repayment plan for loan availed.

Thirdly, does the bank offers any discount or charge interest as per availed period if you pay early or before completion of specified time period.

Frankly if you see all those things you will be not able to avail loan because it is a time consuming process and no bank will provide all this information. Actually when bank gives you loan, they shows that it is a obligation which irritates every person availing loan because he is paying interest and giving loan is a investment by bank so why they shows that it is a obligation?

Send me your views on same.

We all know about the facility of educational loans available through public/private banks in India. In last 10 years a number of peoples have availed this facility for arrangement of quality higher education for their children’s especially middle class service personnel’s by mortgaging their personal saving/assets in the hope that on completion of education when their wards will get good job and they will be able to repay the liability of educational loan. Currently due to global meltdown/financial crisis all the good companies have stopped their recruitments and withdrawn appointment  / offers given to freshers. Today news of Satyam for deferring joining dates 9000 freshers came to picture. it is leading to unemployment and frustration for  all candidates and their families. they are worried about the repayment of loan.

The most important point is that if their are no opportunities available for our young educated force what measures/policies government has framed. I think that government must give them some relaxation and private banks must be instructed that they do not use wrong methods of recovery and must give some relaxation time for repayment of loans.

If the relaxation is not provided and something goes wrong with these family/candidates then it may lead to diversion of youth into wrong / unlawful / criminal activities which will be biggest blunder for our society. We all knows very well about the danger of terrorism. Many terrorist organizations are working on their strategy to engage / recruit the trained youth for the terrorist activities so to stop and save the society Government must act fast and provide some means and ways for relaxation / repayment of loans availed by them.

Ragging is a growing cause of concern in higher educational institutions of India. although the laws and rules had been made but enforcement is the area where we lost our all wickets. college authorities, staff and student representatives must work to save new/junior students from harassment. Recently  the death of a medical students in ragging case at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College at Himachal Pradesh had broken to sleep of concerned authorities, media, government, NGO and society. It is the most hot topic for Media. NGO’s, government authorities and everyone common man is discussing about ragging issue. Even court has issued directives in this regard. UGC says the donations will be less for the institutions who will fail to stop ragging. The main thing is that after few months everyone will forget about ragging. I think solution of this problem is not in taking steps one time and sleep till the next case happens but following steps must be implemented in all higher education institutions. They are as follows :-

- Spread Awareness among students especially the seniors

- Formal introduction meet organized by college authroties under their supervision

- Parents should inculcate good ethics in their wards against ragging

- A common national anti-ragging website where anyone can report the matter and counselling is available for him

- National toll free anti ragging helpline

- All colleges must invite inspection committees from other colleges/government departments/NGO’s to check the anti ragging measures in their campus and hostels.

AT LAST I SAY THAT ALL THE STEPS MENTIONED ABOVE NEEDS REVISION EVERY YEAR.

Commercialization  of Education is on boom in India these days and its starting was from the days of boom in IT Sector when many private companies opened their computer training centre giving diplomas and degrees in various town & cities of every state. Most of which failed and run away with hard earned money of peoples. Similarly the concept of Distance Education launched by government in its various universities is purely business model behind it because whenever a students miss any deadline he have to pay the fines but if university misses all deadlines no measures will be taken in that case. I myself have gone through a graduate distance programme from Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar, Haryana and I never received the study material on time I have to pay the fees by end of august but I always received material in the last week of January. In last year of course for one subject A soft copy (CD) of that subject received to me only two days before the exam. I want to say that when government universities will act in this manner what can be said about the private institutions.  Universities are making money out of distance courses but nor providing services to the students. Dispatch of syllabus, study material is not done. No deadlines are mentioned for the staff to provide books and other required things to students on time. Last year one student doing M.Com from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak through Distance Programme and gone to collect study material at the study centre in December , he received only three books out of six subject and told that university had printed only 3 books and rest of the books are not printed and given by university. What the university is charging for, when they do not give study material to the students it means they are just selling degrees, its shameful that no body is their to take care of these things. No one is raising a voice against them. M.Com (final) year syllabus is not sent by university and neither it is available on DDE site/MDU site. I think no audit system is their for all these things.

Staff involved in printing of study material eats the money and which is clearly corruption. I want to say please don’t break the backbone of education as it will lead to disaster.

Reservation is a issue which had spreads its roots deeply into the Indian society which is not right. If you want to bring the prosperity than you should educate the weaker not the person whose attitude is not right but have dearth of resources with them.

Recently Gujjars demanded reservation and lots of peoples have been killed during agitations. Much of public as well as private property get damaged during the agitation.

If we want to do something good to society than reservation system must be finished and anyone who is not having finance to study than he must be provided help / quota but not everyone based on caste system. Caste based reservation system divides the society and upbrings inequality. It is just politics.

Post your views to me about it.

The most important thing for anyone career. If you don’t have proper qualification and working hard you may not reach the level where you can reach with qualified degrees. Experience definitely counts but qualification is the basic criteria to rise in service sector, it is my personal feeling because in my organization I am among the most hard working employees and keeps every confidential records. My workload level is also very high and my colleagues/Seniors are working on the same thing which I works but they withdraw almost 3-4 times higher salary in comparison to me and that’s because of difference in level of education if you have good educational degree in your hand you will reach high.

So at last I say that education is the most necessary part of life for everyone.b

In a major boost to reservation, the Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the Constitution amendment law providing for 27 per cent quota for Other Backward Classes in IITs, IIMs and other Central educational institutions, but excluded the creamy layer from the benefit.

Coverage: The Reservation Issue

A five-judge Constitution bench cleared the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006 providing for the quota, by a unanimous verdict.

The bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan excluded the creamy layer among the OBCs from the quota benefit.

The court held that the Act does not violate the basic structure of the Constitution.

The verdict came on a bunch of petitions by anti-quota activists challenging the Act. They vehemently opposed government’s move saying caste cannot be the starting point for identifying backward classes.

The inclusion of creamy layer in the reservation policy was also questioned by the anti-quota petitioners.
With this judgment, the interim order of March 29, 2007 staying the implementation of the Act has been lifted.
In effect, the reservation policy can be put in place for the 2008-09 academic session.

The court held that the Constitution (93rd Amendment) Act, under which the government came out with the law providing 27 per cent quota in Centrally-aided institutions, was not violative of the basic structure of the Constitution.

All judges favoured periodic revision on the implementation of the 27 per cent quota.

The court ruled that the delegation of power to the Centre to determine OBCs was valid.

The parameter applied for identifying the creamy layer among the OBCs for jobs as per the office memorandum of September 8, 1993, will be applicable, the court said.

It also held as valid the exclusion of minority institutions from the ambit of quota under the Act.
Besides the Chief Justice, the bench comprised Justices Arijit Pasayat, C K Thakker, R V Raveendran and Dalveer Bhandari.

SC gives nod to 27 per cent quota for OBCs

Primary level education in India is not structured in a right way because generally we see that students carry a very heavy bag, water bottle, sports goods etc. they have to lift too much weight. It seems that small kids are over burdened. They have to study approx. 4 – 5 hrs. in school, complete the home work and then go to tuition. Every week they need to give test and must maintain their performance. Even for going to school they have to regularly travel approx. 10 – 20 km. All this stress is affecting the development of a child. Education must be given in a manner that leads to all-round development of child for all behavior of life not only the academic development of child.

Friends if any of you have some points regarding above please mention.
